An Introduction from the GSL (Group Scout Leader)
I would like to welcome you to the 1st Cuckhamsley website aimed at providing the neccessary information needed to support the group. Here you can find all the iinformation you need for parents wishing to enrole their children for the first time into Beavers, Cubs or Scouts or further information about the group in general.
I took the opportunity over the summer to help with the cub camp; playing indians and building teepee's, not to mention the Beavers joining them for an evening for a water pistol fight. I also spent a day with the scouts on thier camp in Almondsbury, Bristol, where I got to experience thier water slide techniques (its surpirsing what a piece of PVC ,a bit of washing up liquid and a bucket of water can do !!!
| ** Beaver Leader Required ** |
Starting in January 2010, 1st Cuckhamsley will require a replacement 'Beaver Leader'. If we are to continue running a Beaver Colony It's important we find a Beaver Leader ASAP
If anyone knows someone (male or female) that can help, please contact Pete on 07866 804588 or email gsl@1stcuckhamsley.co.uk
Full training will be given along with the necessary support from the assistants, GSL and the group as a whole. It is Scouts policy to CRB check anyone volunteering as a Leader or Assistant Leader
If you know of any notice boards that can help us recruite in the local area, feel free to download the recruitment poster <here> |
As a group were also looking for volunteers who can help with getting involved with any of the groups either by a hands-on approach or by helping the leaders in the background with the administrative side. Its a very good opportunity to understand what scouting is all about with exciting times ahead. For further details select the link below

Hopefully in the next week or two we can get the photos up along with a few other bits and pieces done by the groups
